Annual Co-Op Preschool May Fair Draws Large Crowd
East Greenwich Patch, May 1, 2011
The Barbara M. Tufts Cooperative Preschool's May Fair is as much a part of spring in East Greenwich as the magnolia trees in bloom. In its 31st year, the fair at Academy Field featured pony rides, games, a May pole, a cake walk, a dunk tank and lots of food.

The Barbara M. Tufts Cooperative Preschool, founded in 1966 by the United Methodist Church, offers preschool services to all children regardless of their parent's ability to pay. While not a strict cooperative, parents do volunteer in the school about once a month. The school is located in back of the United Methodist Church's new location on South County Trail.

Sunday's May Fair Rollicking Fun
East Greenwich Patch, May 9, 2012
It didn't rain on May Fair Sunday — no doubt due to Miss Lisa's singing about no rain on May Fair all week long with her young students.
Miss Lisa (Lisa Wesson), director of the Barbara M. Tufts Cooperative Preschool, knew what everyone knows: the sun must shine (at least a little!) on May Fair Day. This year, the 32nd, was no exception. And the crowds came out in droves.
"Barn in the U.S.A." was this year's theme, and amidst the games, food, auction items and plant sale, there were a variety of animals to get close to. The bunnies continue to be one of the fair's most popular events. Children get to sit in a fenced-in area with the bunnies and hold them in their laps ... for as long as the bunnies allow!
At Co-op Preschool, It’s Here A Chick, There A Chick
East Greenwich Patch, May 21, 2011
The little chicks at Barbara M. Tufts Cooperative Preschool are balls of fluff that only days ago were still inside their eggs. That’s the magic of getting eggs from Casey Farm, said longtime teacher Kate Gallogly.
The eggs - they had 30 this year - come with an incubator. When the hatching starts, said Gallogly, the kids get very excited. The eggs started hatching Sunday night.
By Monday, “we had six working at once,” she said, “cracking and pushing and pushing and cracking.”
